A new year, a new start!
The Equoranda team is delighted to relaunch the edition of its enc'Art de Manager with a subject that is close to our hearts... Vision.
For almost 20 years our raison d'être has been to cultivate engagement .
For this we intervene in French and English at several levels which are part of what we have identified as the three pillars of engagement :
VISION: it is the ability to project oneself, it is the direction that we give to the company, it is the best scenario that we wish for the team. Having a clear vision allows everyone to commit to the project. We support management committees or any team that needs to take a step back and write their next chapter.
AUTONOMY: Giving employees the ability to act autonomously, to make decisions at their level (which serve the vision of the company/team) cannot be decreed. Developing autonomy within the organization is a long-term task that is based on a shared desire of leaders, relayed on a daily basis by managers and HR. We offer training to help managers create this culture of autonomy.
skills : These are the interpersonal skills that will allow others to be involved in the vision and the project. We offer training to refine your communication, develop your ability to influence on a daily basis and to be more strategic – among other things.
At the start of the year, focus on Vision!
Some of you have told us that for two years they have no longer bothered to communicate a vision because it was forced to evolve in the uncertain context.
We understand the complexity of the environment. However, we like to make the analogy with a browser. He has a course and whatever bad weather comes his way, he will adapt his route to achieve his objective.
Without a course, what would be his reason for sailing?
It's up to you, leaders and managers, to give your teams a reason to sail with you!
A vision is a convincing image of a desired future for the team; a few months or a few years; which provides clarity and direction.
Sharing a vision allows:
→ Alignment: The whole team knows where it is going, it is committed in the same direction
→ Focus: Make decisions more effectively. The famous Pareto rule can finally be applied! Does what I do really contribute to the vision?
→ Sustainable performance: In the event of an obstacle, the team has a reason to stay together. She will be able to bounce back by looking for an alternative route.
Points of vigilance around vision:
A vision perhaps ambitious and in the nature of a dream; the important thing is:
→ May it inspire, that it animates you, that it gives meaning to your daily life.
→ That it is realistic : broken down for the team, translated into strategic axes and an operational action plan (which may evolve depending on the context!).
→ That it is communicated , that it is embodied in your decisions, that it is aligned with the values and culture of the company.
