Becoming a Leader Manager: the testimony of an immediate transformation thanks to Equoranda

Coralie Quintin, head of the Consulting Department at Finindev, participated in the “Become a Team Leader Manager with the NEWS® method” training offered by Equoranda.
She shares her experience and demonstrates the immediate application of the tools and methods acquired during this 2-day inter-company training in Montpellier.

Why did you participate in this training Manager Team Leader?

As part of my responsibilities, I manage a team of 13 employees with hierarchical and functional relationships. My daily work involves human resources management, task allocation, production, and client advice, while also being the product owner of several software packages and GDPR representative.

Having not received a real training prior to management, I felt the need to move up skills to better engage and involve my team. It is with this in mind that I followed the training “Become a Team Leader Manager with the NEWS® method” provided by Equoranda.

What did you like about this? training ?

I'm really excited about this training which I highly recommend for several reasons

First it is a training very concrete and 100% operational
The program is very qualitative and action-oriented. training offers a real "toolbox" allowing you to immediately apply the concepts covered. In particular, I discovered how to create a compass for my team, an essential tool for defining a common vision and strengthening the engagement of each one.

Then, the pedagogical approach is remarkable. Equoranda's methodology is based on a very effective balance between theory (1/3) and practice (2/3). The worked examples and training in subgroups were particularly enriching, encouraging mutual assistance and the exchange of good practices. The trainers, very professional, were able to support us with a human and personalized approach, providing us with precise feedback on our scenarios.

What actions have you taken following this? training and with what results?

The day after the training , I applied the tools I discovered. For example, during a one-on-one interview with a colleague and his line manager, I used several questioning techniques. This allowed me to structure the exchange, establish active listening, and reach a shared conclusion, thus defusing a potential conflict.

I also organized a team meeting using the NEWS® method, and more specifically to define with my team "Where are we going?" This approach immediately paid off: my colleagues were more involved, proactive and proactive because I was able to share a common vision with them in a participatory manner and define a medium-term direction.

After this meeting, several colleagues came to see me to express their satisfaction: they feel more structured, more motivated and better engaged in their work.

In continuation of this training , I also decided to implement a collective approach to identify and remove the obstacles to collectively meeting our challenges.

What would you say in conclusion?

This experience taught me that humility is essential for management: you have to know how to move beyond your certainties in order to evolve and grow.
The challenge is clear: develop team performance and retain talent.
There training Equoranda has been a real lever for gaining confidence in my eating posture, for structuring my management and for sustainably engaging my team.
