The observation relayed is not new...but the two proposed avenues seem to us to correspond well to our experience of supporting managers.
When we speak with managers, they almost always have the feeling of “belonging to the team they manage” more than to the managerial team of their organization.
However, when they become aware of the existence of a managerial community and that they can develop their belonging to this community, then they realize that they are not alone in having to create the momentum required on a daily basis. And that changes a lot of things.
Exchanges of practice between managers and participation in the definition of strategy are some of the important elements for creating a managerial community.
